Stephen Little & Associates are involved in providing Town Planning advice for a the redevelopment of Killeen Castle Demesne, including the refurbishment and extension of Killeen Castle located west of Dunshaughlin in Co. Meath.
The central focus of the site is Killeen Castle, which dates from the late 12th century. Permission was previously granted under Reg. Ref. 00/1670 – PL17.125108 for restoration works to the Castle. Additional modifications to the Castle interior and the new build element of the hotel have been subject to a number of planning permissions, the most recent (DA/801916), being granted in September 2008, permits, inter-alia, 17 no. bedroom suites in the Castle and 39 no. bedrooms, a leisure/spa facility and ballroom in new-build element. This permission also introduces alternative hotel accommodation in the form of village-style units (46 no. in total).
The 18-hole Golf Course developed at Killeen Castle covers an area of approximately 350 acres among superb natural woodland, and has been specifically designed by former pro-golfer, Jack Nicklaus and is one of his Signature Courses.
The Killeen Castle development also includes 162 no. high-quality dwellings set in the historic grounds of one of Ireland's oldest and finest 12th century Norman castles.
